Doing HM in Nightfall - Guild Wars Forums

How tedious are the missions in NF? I love the missions in GW but some of them are a drag and take so long. I have no interest left to get anymore titles but beating all of the HM missions is bugging me. Are the missions shorter then the ones in Proph? Another question is do you have to do Cartography/Vanquishing( one or the other) to get at least 30/50 if you dont want to spend the money on other titles? Another unrelated question is can you use paypal to buy things in the GW store?( Fire imp looks interesting for my soon to be LDoA)

Missions are shorter than prophecies, generally between 15 and 45mins, depending on the mission and your team setup.

You don't have to do vanquishing or carto to get 30/50. Cheapest/quickest I believe is getting 5armor including luxon or kuzick, getting 1 destroyer 1oppressor and potentially 1 tormented weapon(depends on your money), getting the black moa chick, a cheap gold mini(like Prince Rurik) and a bunch of first and 2nd year white minis(1-4k each) for 20minis, 15 or 20 titles such as Guardian/Protector of tyria/cantha/elonia, conqueror of fissure of woe/sorrow furnace/the deep/urgoz(easily soloable with good heroes) and potentially UW and DoA depending on how good you are or if you can fit into SC, and 19hero armor(all eotn heroes can use cloths of the bortherhood which can be farmed afk see glint afk challenge thread, or worth 5k, then a bunch of NF drops for ~7k each)+1 rare pet(phoenix being the easiest to get).

Might miss a few points that you'll have to complete by doing whatever you feel is the least boring, but all these are pretty quick to do and don't require too much money. VQing can be useful for additional titles though, for example VQing Elonia entirely will also give you max sunspear and lightbringer title, and if you do carto at the same time, that's 4titles at once. Given it takes a very long time to VQ all of Elonia, but still. Not the same synergy in other campaigns but EotN, sadly EotN only has one title track for all the VQ+carto so not very useful.

As for achieving 30/50 HoM... I am currently at 33/50 without a single vanquisher or cartographer title. However I did have to get a bunch of mini pets, prestige armor (for myself and my heroes), and weapons. If you don't want to spend any gold... then unfortunately the only route to go is vanquishing and exploring because most of the achievements in any other tier other than Honor require some gold to be spent. The good thing is you can get cartographer and a number of other titles as you vanquish. Try to time your vanquishing in certain areas with bonus weekends so you can maximize the reputation gain from your vanquishes (i.e. only vanquish in Eye of the North when it's the Vanguard/Norn/Dwarf/Asura bonus weekend, only vanquish in Elona when it's Sunspear/Lightbringer weekend, only vanquish in southern Cantha when it's Kurzick/Luxon weekend). There is no super easy way to get to 30/50 without spending time playing the game or dropping some gold.

FYI - The fire imp won't work after your character hits level 20, so if you plan to get it for your LDOA character, you might want to re-think. :P
